Understanding the Henry range

Classic Lever Action .22. The rifle that built the company: light, affordable and famously smooth, in .22 LR and .22 Magnum.

Golden Boy. The same rimfire idea with a brass-toned receiver and octagon barrel. A common first rifle and a common heirloom.

Big Boy. Centerfire lever actions in revolver calibers such as .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum and .45 Colt, available with brass or steel receivers.

.30-30 and .45-70. Full-power hunting lever actions for deer, hogs and larger game. Newer side gate models load through the receiver as well as the magazine tube.

Single shots and the U.S. Survival AR-7. Break-action rifles and shotguns, plus the takedown .22 that packs into its own stock.

Choosing a Henry

Decide on the job first: plinking and small game points to the rimfires, woods hunting to a Big Boy or .30-30, and big game to the .45-70. Steel-receiver models are lighter and take hard use; brass models are heavier and steadier on the bench.
